About Me:
Picked up the guitar around the age of 12 and bought a 4-track shortly after. I played music and learned more and more about recording techniques everyday and soon after considered little else for a career. I booked time at local studios as a teen and was later invited to Clear Channel to record my first album. I was fascinated with the technical side of recording through those experiences and enrolled at the Berklee College of Music and majored in contemporary writing and production. After completing my studies in Boston I moved to Hollywood, CA to attended Musicians Institute to get even more hands on experience in the business. There I graduated and with certificates in audio engineering and recording arts (business).

Over the last few years I've worked for NRG Recording in North Hollywood under Jay Baumgardner, at Santa Monica Recording Studios doing post- production for video games, at Silent Sounds Recording Studios in West Hollywood under Jim Morgan, and Pipeline Recording Services in Burbank.

I produce artists, score music for films and video games and write jingles. I've worked with Michael Luginbill, Nons3nse, Al Nesa (film), World of Warcaraft (video), Luke Andes, The Hydromusix Sound, Chandra Simmons, John Adair, etc.

I use Logic as a tool for many of my productions and enjoy the versatility of the software. There is a lot to be said for the accuracy of the program and the ability to have an entire studio at your fingertips. But to be honest, I am an organic engineer and prefer to bypass the synthetic route. I would much rather mic the instrument from the source and not trigger it from a sample library. I just feel like that takes away from the artistic side of recording. Logic allows me to be innovative in other ways that Pro Tools never will and thats why I will always use the software for my projects.

Oh I just saw that is was classical. Sorry. wasn't paying attention.
So forget the comment about the compression.
Man classical Organ, I am clueless. My mind was on Gospel B3 because I'm producing my second Gospel record this year... :)
Anyway, you should talk to Bob Katz at Digido.com. He is the man. If he wont call you back, tell him I send you.

That is a very interesting question. First of all, as I am sure you are aware, you HAVE TO low cut everything under 70-80, you wont need those anyway.
Do you really believe you will use the DI? If you mic'd the Leslie correctly, you shouldn't need anything, or wait, did you have a Leslie?
I would relly try to find the frequencies that make it thicker and airy at the same time. And dont be afraid to qy each side a tat different, it might slightly increase the phazing, but if you can get away with it, it will make it even wider.
You will compress the sƒ©˙ƒ©ƒ out of the chamber, right?

Hey ron, I couldn't agree more,I rather play the instrument to an audio track and get the feel without worrying about "resolution" and "feel" of the computer. If any software is your solution for not knowing your craft,in our case musicianship, you are in trouble.
